I adored the movie and book alike.
In many times I felt myself wishing I could shake the heck out of Browny and smacking her until I felt she had enough. I felt like she was this self absorbed creep who felt like she had the right to mess into everyones lives and to destroy a love that she obviously could never understand. I think the problem is at a certain degree that Browny feels that the world revolves around her and that she never hits the growing stage that most of us experience in finding out that there is so much more in the world that a little play and not being the center of attention; I feel like she never grows up and realizes how grave her mistake was to lie and accuse an innocent man of something so atrocious.
I have to say that I nearly feel in love with Robbie and his vulnerability to let love and to allow others to love him. His relationship with Cecilia and him is so passionate although strangely enough they only have one scene where he and Cecilia are truly together and you can tell how passionately in love they are. I believe that without that library scene you wouldn't truly understand their love and wouldn't be able to believe that they stayed faithful to each other until death. Makes hope and question if love like that can truly exist in the this world to survive off of one night and to love each other until the end (long distance relationship)?
Truthfully I must admit that I do have, even the slightest hope, that that love truly does exist somewhere in this earth even if its not alive now I hope it was once.
-Were you able to forgive Browny?
-Did you believe in Cecilia's and Robbie's love?
-What did you think of the ending?
